About Me:
I have a PhD physiology with emphasis in neurophysiology and behavior. Basically, I'm a science geek. Somewhere during my graduate schooling I realized that I like talking about science and teaching more than I enjoy being in a lab. New media is a shiny new tool that can be used to improve the state of science education in the US. My goal is to make science more popular. So, toward that end I started a science-based talk show on the local college station called This Week in Science, or TWIS. That was back in 1999. I've since expanded into podcasting (2 years and counting!), which allowed me to reach a much broader audience. I trained as a TV news producer for Dr. Max Gomez at WNBC-TV in NYC, and am currently working to create new science video content for the web.

Kirsten,

These are great. I thought Fudge Science was really good. The video is so clear and I love the affects used in the videos. This is very clever and I think it's going to take off. I'll definitely be tuning in.

It's been around for a long time but is mostly military grade technology. My camera was released just 2 years.
Flir.com
Is the company. It's also a stock I'd recommend.

Kristen,
I am an Infrared Thermographer. The application of Thermography in Building Science, allows me to perform non-destructive testing and analysis of a structures envelope and its building materials.
Is that geeky enough!?
Part Engineer, Part Contractor, ... with Xray vision.
It's really very cool.
Thx

Hmm, my comment seems to have ended up on MY wall, instead of yours. See below:

That's her all right, and her podcast.
I was hoping to link up with other medical pocasters at the Expo, but could only arrive Friday AM - and the meetup for the med folk was Thursday, I think Ginger actually booked the restaurant tables, and about half a dozen or so folk showed up.

FYI - if you haven't already, you might want to check out Ginger Campbell's page on Facebook -- she's into neuroscience and has interviewed some nifty folk.
